One of the UK’s best-known novelists, Doris Lessing is the focus of the International Doris Lessing Conference at Leeds Metropolitan University, 6-8 July. Her memoir, originally titled “In Pursuit of the English," now a one-woman play, uses humor and love of humanity to explore themes of survival in the face of disaster that are relevant today.
Sponsored by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, “In Pursuit of the English: Rose,” is the only dramatization of Lessing to be so honored with being presented as part of the conference.
